Dr Ahmed Mahamud Ibrahim was born in ferfer district in the Somali regional state of Ethiopia at around 1960s and was rose in the same district. He was thought the Qur'an by Abdulahi haji salah and upon his completion of Qur'an he soon moved to Kallafo district in the same Somali regional state of Ethiopia where he lived with his uncle Abdulahi Ibrahim (uraag) who was a famous business man in Kallafo district. After a short period of time Dr Ahmed travelled to Somalia specially the capita city of Mugadisho where he started pursuing his formal education and reached up to a university level.he has graduated from the Somali National University under the department of Agriculture. Due his talented ness he was accepted as a university lecturer.he was then sent to Italy for a scholarship where obtained his PhD in the same department of agriculture and become a university professor in italy.He then moved to Canada where he continued his professional teaching in the university of Toronto. In the late 1990s he come back to his home land and become among the first diaspora members who has come back to their native land to benefit for their community and participate the ongoing development activities. Upon his arrival in jigjiga the capital city of Somali Regional State of Ethiopia Dr Ahmed established the Barkhadle Academy, a private owned primary school which later expanded to the whole region. Dr Ahmed's contributions were not limited only to the education sector but also made a significant contribution to the research activities mainly in the agricultural land. He has made several researches for the regional agriculture and rural development bureau. Since its establishment he was a voluntarily teaching in Jigjiga University. Dr Ahmed died on the 2nd of July 2015 in jigjiga referral Hospital. He was the husband of Two wives and the father of 9 children.
