Cardano was created by blockchain development firm Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) and led by Charles Hoskinson, former co-founder of Ethereum.[1]

Cardano is administered by the Cardano Foundation, based in Switzerland. The foundation is headed by Pascal Schmid.[2]

ADA had a price peak in December 2017, at the peak of the 2017 cryptocurrency bubble.[3]
