Daniel Fernandes (born 2 August 1984) is a Stand-up Comedian, musician, anchor, and a producer for Vir Das’ company Weirdass Comedy.


Daniel Fernandes was born in Mumbai but has spent most of his life in Goa. He studied at Holy Family High School in Porvorim, completed Bachelors in computer science from St. Xaviers in Mapusa and an MBA in marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune. He is involved in wildlife conservation (mainly snakes), and has hosted events like Forbes India 30 Under 30 2015. His genre of comedy influences from American comedians like John Oliver, Bill Burr, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Patrice O’Neal.


Daniel Fernandes started experimenting with stand-up comedy during his MBA at SIMC, Pune. After his MBA he worked in advertising with Ravi Deshpande Pictures Mumbai, but wanted to do more with his life. He quit the corporate world and took up stand-up comedy, and hasn’t looked back since. His comedy presents a fresh perspective on life, making him a popular comic on the corporate circuit. He has performed at corporate events for Edelweiss, Bank of America, HDFC Ergo, Femina and more. He has been featured on television shows like the ‘Next Door Diva 2011’ on Zoom TV. He performs at venues like Canvas Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, Blue Frog, High Spirits and more. He has performed in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Goa, Gujarat, Pune, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Kochi and other major cities, and also at international destinations like the Netherlands, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. His material covers topics like student suicide, marital rape, death penalty and other relevant incidents that hold significance in the life of common man.

Daniel Fernandes founded Microphone Entertainment, a comedy production house in 2012 and has co-founded a musical comedy collective called ‘The Yellow Experiment’. He also writes for a comedy show called ‘Son of Abish’, and works as a producer for Weirdass Comedy. He was also part of the team involved in promotion of the Bollywood film ‘Manjhi - The mountain man’ along with the lead actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. He recently performed at Bengaluru’s first ever Comedy Festival, Bengaluru Comedy Festival, along with well known stand-up comics like Aditi Mittal, Sanjay Manaktala, Biswa Kalyan, Kenny Sebastian and Radhika Vaz.
