Debapriya Mukhopadhyay[1] (born 24 March 1986) is an Indian philanthropist,[2] entreprenure.[3] An optometry professional who's main aim is to explore the unexplored area of optometry.[4] He reached to the most rural villages in India to deliver the eye care.[5] Among his specialties community eye health,[6] and pediatric optometry are most significant.

Debapriya Mukhopadhyay is elder son of his parents, Dr. Harinath Mukherjee and Mrs. Mousumi Mukherjee. He has a younger sister Shreyasi. He was born in Bankura district, West Bengal and brought up in Kolkata. He studied iat Shibpur Dinabandhu Institution Branch School, Howrah Zilla School, and B.K.Pal's institution Howrah.He was always a mediocre student in school. He was known amongst peers and teachers for his good behaviour and soft speaking voice. While in class 12th in 2003 he failed and passed Higher Secondary in 2004. Health condition

He is a known patient of Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy, ediopathic. Diagnosed in 2000 when he was in ninth standard.

Debapriya Mukhopadhyay[7] started giving eye care in rural villages from 2003 with the support of his father Dr.Harinath Mukherjee.[8] He worked in State General Hospitals as an apprentice of his father. He studied Bachelor of Optometry in 2004-08 batch at Vidyasagar College of Optometry and Vision Science, Kolkata. As a clinical intern he went to Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital, Chennai and served the rural population of Tamilnadu, India in 2007-08. He studied Master of Optometry in Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College School of Optometry, Batch 2008-10. While studying he authored a book on progressive addition lenses.[9] He reported to IJO that spectacles compliance in rural school children in Pune district is poor.[10] He worked with Sankara Nethralaya and many national and international eye care institutes. Currently he is associated as faculty member[11] with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Template:Break

Philanthropic Activities

27 December 2010, Debapriya Mukhopadhyay with his six associates founded an NGO/NPO[12] for the cause of social development. 2010-15 with this organization he organised around 60 eye care camps and served more than 15000 population of rural India. This institute has received 80G Certification[13] from Income Tax Department Govt. of India. He is an adviser and acting CFO of an Indian electronics company[14] where he is also associated with optoelectronics, computational optometry, Do It Yourself lab[15] and business development.He is also founding director[16]

Debapriya Mukhopadhyay is a vocalist singer, he writes poetry,[17] plays piano. Photography[18] is his another speciality. He made many handicrafts from waste glasses and CR material while working in a spectacle lab and company at Pune, India. Amongst them Sailboat is significant. Template:Break
