Musical artist

Lanie Banks (Birth name: Micheal Osings, Birth date: 10 October 1996). Is a rapper, entrepreneur, songwriter, music video director and community activist. He is of a Ugandan descent.[1][2][3][4][5]


He was born at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, also referred to as Mbale Hospital, located around the Eastern Uganda border in Mbale District, Mbale town. However, Micheal Osings was raised by both his parents who were then working in the Ministry Of Defence. As a child, he studied from Nabuyonga Elementary Institution for children but was unfortunate at the age of six when he got ran down by a car that left him injured with a fractured femur bone in other words broken leg. This occurred during his third year of elementary school. His involvement in music was evident even as a child because he was already member of the children church choir.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12]


His life as a musician began to evolve when he moved to Kampala to pursue and continue with further and higher education and studies. When in Kampala, he came into contact with other music professionals who were basically music lecturers, they went by the Name(s) Klassein Maloe and Kaz Kasozi. These professionals lectured Micheal Osings about writing musical notes and song forms which further enhanced his musical skills. At one time Micheal Osings admitted to have gotten some inspiration from his childhood Christian Church Choir leader Cinderella Sanyu who by then had a flourishing career as a musical artist.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23] Micheal Osings got noticed when he curtain raised for Davido before he showcased his Twatoba project with Pallaso Mayanja.

Awards and nomination

He managed to acquire an award for best urban rapper of the occasion shortly after nomination.[24][25][26][27]
