History
Li Nan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Beijing University of Technology in 2001.
After graduation, he joined Japanese NEC Informatec Systems as a programmer and developed a part of an online ERP system. After several other positions within the organization, he was promoted to Project Manager in 2007. He left the company in 2010.
In December 2008 he co-founded the Chinese technology website iFanr.com, which later became one of the largest and most influential technology websites in China. It is ranked as 387th most popular site in mainland China as of August 2016.[1]
Between April 2010 and June 2012, Li was the Product Manager at Japanese mobile development company MonstarLab.
Li Nan joined Meizu in June 2012 as Senior Product Director. Between October 2012 and November 2012 he was temporarily appointed as Marketing Director. In June 2013 he was promoted to his current position as Vice President Sales & Marketing.
Under his leadership, Meizu has achieved major successes in sales.Template:CN The Meizu lineup consisting of three series of devices has been established by Li Nan.Template:CN The first one is the M series, which offers competitively priced mid-range devices. The next series is the MX series, which consists of devices placed between the mid-range and flagship series. The lineup is topped up with the PRO series which represents Meizu’s flagship devices. Li was also the initiator of the smart device platform “Connect to Meizu”. Besides that, Li has brought agile software development as part of Scrum methodology to Meizu.[2] Furthermore, Meizu has reached record sales of 25 million devices in 2015, which represents an increase of 350% in comparison with the previous year.[3]
As of September 2016, Li Nan has over 890,000 followers on Chinese microblogging network Sina Weibo.[4] Li Nan acts as the public representative of Meizu by holding keynotes at product launch events and commenting on news and rumors concerning Meizu using social media. In March 2016, rumors considering an upcoming iPhone have been published after images of a smartphone body had been leaked on various websites. Li Nan debunked these rumors and explained that the device on the leaked images was a Meizu PRO 6.[5]
