In 2016 he was elected to be chairman of the Board of Directors of NRB Bank Limited.[3] In 2002 Mr. Mahtabur Rahman, also holds Citizenship of the United States, was involved in a misunderstanding with the Bangladeshi Consul General in Dubai where he alleged them of misconduct, the issue was later resolved amicably.[4]
Philanthropy
Mr. Mahtabur Rahman is widely involved in charity. He donated 7.5 million Bangladeshi Taka to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh’s Relief Fund in 2016.[5]
