Pokémon is a popular Japanese video game series and television anime series. In India, the anime is relatively popular, while the video games are less well-known. Pokémon (anime) came to Indian Television in 2003, first airing on Cartoon Network. Later, it was also show on Pogo. In 2014, Pokémon was show on Hungama TV and then shifted to Disney XD which later was rebranded to Marvel HQ. The Pokémon anime dubbed is dubbed is three languages: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. In 2014, the Pokémon anime had an Indian audience of 100.8 million viewers and dubbed was dubbed on Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on Hungama TV. Pokémon anime is also show on Disney International HD in English.

History

It first aired on Cartoon Network with its first season being Pokémon: Indigo League 12 May 2003, with the original English audio in Hindi dubbed in house of Crest Animation Studio up to Season 1 to Season 4. After that, Sound and Vision got rights from Cartoon Network to dub the anime. While Cartoon Network was aiairing Pokémon Episodes from Season 5 to Season 9, the channel introduced two new languages: Tamil and Telugu dubbed by the Vision and Sound Company in Mumbai. Starting with Diamond and Pearl series, The Pokémon anime shifted to Pogo. Pogo aired Season 10 to Season 13 in the original English audio with a Hindi dub. It shifted back to Cartoon Network with Season 14. Season 14 was not dubbed in Tamil and Telugu, but available only in English audio and had a Hindi dub by Sound and Vision India. Cartoon Network also aired Pokémon Chronicles on 11 June 2009, It is a Spin-off series of Pokémon. In 2014, Disney India brought the rights of Pokémon. But, Disney India did not get the rights for the previous Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs. So, the anime was re-dubbed by Disney India Studios. It first aired on Hungama TV, Hungama TV aired Season 1 to Season 7 and Season 17. After airing Pokémon shifted to Disney XD. In 2018, Disney XD aired Season 8 to Season 10. In 2019, the anime shifted again to Marvel HQ. In 2019, Marvel HQ aired Season 11 and Season 13. Pokémon is also aired on Disney International HD from 8 July 2019, Disney International HD aired Season 12 only in English dub. From 10 August 2019, Hungama TV Started to Re-aired Pokémon. In 2019 Hungama TV aired Season 11 and Season 12. Now Pokémon is show on Hungama TV and Marvel HQ.
