Shanthi R Baliga (born December 3, 1935) is known for her volunteer work in Bangalore, India.

Early life

Shanthi Baliga was born December 1985 to Kochikar Sanjiv Pai and Mrs. Girija Pai. She completed her B.A. at St. Xavier's College,Mumbai in 1956 before she went on to complete her M.A. in Sociology from School of Economics and Sociology (subsequently merged with University of Mumbai), Mumbai in 1958. She completed a post-graduate Diploma in Marketing and Advertising from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore in 1974 where she received the Vijaya Bank Award for the Best All-Round Student in Marketing and Advertising.

She helped drafting a statement titled "BUILDING CIVIL SOCIETY: A GUIDE TO ACTION:A Statement of the Johns Hopkins International Fellows in Philanthropy in July 1999." Adopted villages included Abbigere, Soulikere (near Kengeri), Margandohahalli and Varadenahalli (Magadi Taluk).

Activities at Rotary Club, Bangalore: As Chairperson for Community Projects she was involved with initiating a Mid-Day meal program for economically deserving students, starting free coaching classes for SSLC students of low income background and helping in projects like school building and a free medical dispensary in rural areas

Activities at Inner Wheel Club, Bangalore: Actively participated in blood donation camps, general health check-up camps in rural areas and helping in school building project

Activities at Family Planning Association of India, Bangalore Branch: Actively participated in program which educated women on family programs. She represented India at International workshops in Indonesia, Beijing, Lucknow and Chennai.

She represented India at the United Nations International Conference of Women in Beijing, China
