Victoria Yin (simplified Chinese 尹亮前, born in 1997) is an American artist and poet. China Central TV, China Education TV, Cleveland WCPN Radio, THNKRTV, China Daily call her a child prodigy.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] She currently attends Brown University.

Background

Yin was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Her mother, Yuemao Xu, is an architect, landscape architect, and real estate developer. Her father, Dr. Yizhong Yin, is a biomedical scientist and businessman. Her younger sister, Zoe Yin, is also known as a child prodigy.

Career

Yin began drawing at an early age and has been represented by galleries in America and China. By age ten, her artworks had attracted worldwide collection, and Yin became internationally known.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18]

At age twelve, Yin was invited by the China Cultural Ministry, Arts and Entertainment Group to hold a joint art exhibition with her sister, 8 year old Zoe Yin, at the World Art Museum in Beijing, China. The exhibition “Strokes of Genius-- Exhibition by the Art World Child Prodigy Siblings Victoria Yin . Zoe Yin” was held two years later in October 2011.[19][20] A book with a collection of both sisters' works, “Art World Child Prodigy Siblings-- Victoria Yin, Zoe Yin” was published in English and Chinese,[21] and was selected to be exhibited at the Annual Frankfurt Book Fair, Germany.

Yin was interviewed by CCTV (China Central TV) cultural express,[1] China Education Television TV,[2] and CCTV world wide broadcasting program cross over and painted live in front of a worldwide audience.[3]

Yin's story was documented in two episodes of PRODIGIES, "Young Prodigies Dazzle The Art World" [5] and "Teen Art Star Compared to Dali" [22] when she was 14. (PRODIGIES is a bi-weekly series from THNKRtv, initiated by Google, showing the youngest and brightest talents).

Yin's book of poems, "A Mind's Journey-age 7 to 15", was published by the Xinhua Publishing House in China in August 2013.[23]
