Vijaykumar is a Classical singer and belongs to kirana gharana.
Early life
Vijaykumar was born on 28th october 1982 in Soudatti, Karnataka. He started learning the intracacies of Kirana Gharana under the guidance of Pt. Kaivalya Kumar Gurav.
He completed masters degree in Hindustani classical music from Dr. Gangubai Hangal university, Mysore and currently pursuing doctorate from KUD, Dharwad.
Career
At the age of 26, Vijaykumar won the first prize in "Harballab Sangeet samaroh" held at Jalandhar, Punjab. He won first prize in national level youth festival held at Annamalai university, Tamilnadu and was felicitated by the governor of Tamilnadu for the same.
He is blessed with high a high pitched mellifluous voice. Apart from being well known performing artist, He has also proved himself as an efficient composer. Vijaykumar sings Marathi Natya sangeet, Kannada Ranga geet, Abhang, Dasar Pada, Bhava geet and Vachana with equal expertise.
Performances
Vijaykumar has performed in well known concerts such as Savai Ghandarva Mahotsav,Kundgol;Swar Vilas Sangeet sabha,Vadodara; Aurangabad Sangeet Sammelan;Harvallab Sangeet Samaroh; Dasara Utsav, Mysore; Aaradhana mahotsav, Mantralayam; Daasa Sahitya,Tirupati; and Dharwad Utsav, Dharwad. Vijaykumar has also performed in middle eastern countries.
Awards
