Artist

Wang NewOne or Wang Xinyi (Template:Zh) is a digital artist from Shanghai, China, creating artwork on digital platforms such as Tumblr, NewHive and YouTube. Wang says her artwork is influenced by the internet, viruses, 3D models, anime, game culture, virtual worlds and operating systems.[1] NewOne has a background in traditional Chinese painting though has chosen to move away from working in the art world in favor of presenting works in virtual environments.[2] Her works are presented in online gallery sites including commissions for NewHive and self-released works on YouTube[3] and on her Tumblr, written about in print and digital publications such as DazedDigital and Vice China.[4] Wang NewOne was the name of a self-titled online collection of artwork created by the artist, curated by Michelle Proksell in May 2015. The series of six works feature figures isolated in cyberspaces.
