Wolfgang Blum (born Wolfgang Hans-Joachim Blümel on 17 January 1961) is an Austrian singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known by the stage name blum. He began his musical career as guitar player at the age of 14, eventually touring Europe multiple times with international number-one pop and rock acts. Having worked as studio and live musician in Vienna in the 1980s, he frequently contributed guitar and vocal tracks to several chart-topping records of that decade.[1]

With the intention of taking an extended break from the professional music scene, Wolfgang shifted his primary residence to the United States in 1990, in order to pursue other interests. He has come back writing songs for his first solo album blum which is due to be released in fall/winter 2010.
