Humboldt State and CSU Northridge
During his first season with the Matadors, Hobbs made 22 appearances in goal, he recorded 69 saves and assembled a 1.05 goals against average while earning a 14-7-1 record and making three clean sheets. Hobbs made six saves in a game on two occasions, winning matches at New Mexico (9/15) and against Cal Poly (10/13).
During the 2014 season Hobbs started 17 games in goal for CSUN. Hobbs was the squad's starting goalkeeper and turned in an impressive 0.83 goals against average with 65 saves. During the season Hobbs was responsible for seven wins as he recorded six clean sheets. Hobbs had an outstanding 13 saves in a pair of shutout wins over nationally ranked UC Irvine and made a season record of nine saves in a 1-1 draw against Cal State Fullerton on Senior Night.
Hobbs started in all 19 matches for CSUN in his senior season for the club, named to Second Team All-Big West team, Hobbs earned three Big West Defensive Player of the Week honours during the season and finished the season with a 1.07 goals-against average, 84 saves and an .800 save percentage. In addition to this Hobbs collected five clean sheets and finished third in program history with 29 career wins. Hobbs also finished fourth in the number of games in goal he played with 58, the amount of saves he made with 218 and the amount of clean sheets he kept with 14. Furthermore Hobbs made a career-high 10 saves in contests with UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis. Additionally Hobbs recorded nine saves in a scoreless draw at UC Irvine and also kept clean sheets against CSU Bakersfield, Santa Clara, San Diego and UC riverside
FSV Optik Rathenow
On December 14, 2015 Hobbs signed a contract with German club FSV Optik Rathenow.
Since joining with Optik Hobbs has played 8 times.
Hobbs is renowned for his consistent performances throughout his career, even when his team might not be playing well. Hobbs has received praise from managers, players and goalkeeping colleagues. Hobbs has been described as "an agile, strong, vocal and commanding shot-stopper" and "an exceptional positional sense, loyalty and class".
Hobbs is well known for being able to quickly rush off his line and get to ground to stop an attack and for his handling, command of the area and his aerial ability. Hobbs also has quick footwork and has taken on defenders if necessary. Hobbs also is a good kicker of the ball, often starting attacks with his long distance kicking and his overall distribution.
Hobbs has stated that "My whole family revolves around soccer, my dad played semi-professionally, my older sister played soccer at Arizona State University, and my younger sister plays soccer at El Segundo High".
Hobbs attended El Segundo High School and was a three-sport athlete. He earned a letter as a kicker and wide receiver on the football team, played tennis, and was the goalkeeper for the soccer team. Hobbs graduated from El Segundo High in 2011 with a 3.0 GPA.
Hobbs' younger sister who attends El Segundo High School is on the girl's varsity soccer team where their father is the head coach of the team. Hobbs' father, Antony Hobbs, is originally from London and has played semi-professional football for Edgware Town. Hobbs' grandfather was also the head coach of Edgware Town.
Hobbs has cited David Beckham as an influence and has said his favourite goalkeepers are Peter Schmeichel, Edwin Van Der Sar and Manuel Neuer who he looks up to as role models by studying their strategy in football games.
Hobbs is half British and possesses a dual citizenship. Hobbs is a keen Manchester United supporter and has stated "Playing for Manchester United would be the ultimate dream".
