Awards and certifications

Al-Shaheer Corporation is ISO 9001:2000 certified. It received SAFE Food Award 2009 by URS for quality and hygiene.[no citations needed here] In 2009, Al Shaheer also won the first ‘Best Export Performance’ award for Fresh and Frozen Meat from the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.[no citations needed here]

Initial Public Offering

In June 2015, 18.75m shares of Al-Shaheer Co-operation were offered to large investors. Through the process of Book Building, the strike price of a share (having face value of Rs. 10) was settled at Rs. 95. This provoked a great discussion in Pakistani business and investment circles about the process of Book Building and the possibility of price manipulation inherent in the process, with many calling for a return to the Dutch Auction method of IPO.
