Anant Mukesh Ambani (born 9 April 1995) is an undergraduate student at Brown University and a celebrity. He is the youngest son of Indian businesspeople Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited, and Nita Ambani, founder of Reliance Foundation. He is the brother of Akash Ambani, chief of strategy of Jio, and Isha Ambani, COO of AJIO.[2] He is also in the team of advisers for the IPL franchise team Mumbai Indians.

In April 2016, a story regarding Ambani's physical transformation was covered across national media after he lost more than 50 pounds of weight.[3][4]


Ambani is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree from Brown University. After completing his schooling from Dhirubhai Ambani International School, he moved to the US.

Personal life

Ambani is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani. His siblings, Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani, are co-directors at Jio and Reliance Retail.[1][5]

In December 2015, along with Akash and Isha, Anant Ambani was part of the employee launch of upcoming LTE service provider Jio in the presence of the brand's ambassador, Shah Rukh Khan. He delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the event.[6][7]

Ambani often accompanies his mother to the IPL cricket matches of Mumbai Indians. He is a staunch devotee of Lord Balaji and often visits temples.[8][9] and is also an animal lover and a wildlife enthusiast.[10]

Physical transformation

In April 2016, Ambani lost 108 kilograms of weight in eighteen months. He had gained excessive weight after he was administered a strong medication for chronic asthma during his childhood.[11][10][12][13] Celebrities like Salman Khan and M. S. Dhoni tweeted about Ambani's weight loss.[14]
