Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa[1] is located near the town centre of Siem Reap in Cambodia and is a 15-minute drive from Angkor Wat, part of the Angkor Archaeological Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[2] Belonging to Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, the resort is close to the Cambodian Cultural Village and the Siem Reap International Airport[3]


Designed like a Royal Khmer Villa, the resort was initially constructed by a local family. In 2014 the majority stake & rights were sold to Anantara which runs the property under the Minor Hotel Group brand. Formerly known as the Sothea Boutique Resort,[4] Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa became the 25th property of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas and its first in Cambodia.

CSR Activities

  • The Wishing Tree – Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa has organised a project whereby children from a local school write down their wishes for the coming year for improving both their education and lives. These wishes are placed on a tree and guests are encouraged to pick one and make a small donation and with the resort’s assistance, help to make that wish come true.
  • Rebuilding and refurbishing school classrooms & play areas
  • Providing teaching supplies
