Template:Infobox organization Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers Inc. is an independent Columbus, Georgia based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Also referred to as GoodwillSR or GWISR. GoodwillSR is given its charter through Goodwill Industries International and maintained by a board of directors composed of Columbus, Georgia based community and business leaders.[1] GoodwillSR currently has several career center locations offering many services to community members including free tax preparation to those that do not exceed a maximum income threshold.[2]

Accreditation

GoodwillSR relies on accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. CARF accreditation is required for a non-profit to identify as a subsidiary of Goodwill International.[3] The most recent award was for a period of 3 years.[4]

Powerworks Industries

GoodwillSR is the parent company of the non-profit Power Works Industries Inc.They share a headquarters in Columbus,Georgia,[11] although their operational locations are different. Powerworks provided custodial and building maintenance services to the Columbus, Albany, and Valdosta city areas. This company supports the overall Goodwill mission of supporting the community by providing meaningful employment and services while providing a positive revenue stream for GoodwillSR.[12]
