Football biography

John Doran was an Irish soccer player during the 1960s and 1970s.

He won a league winners medal with Bohemians in 1974/75. He made 4 appearances in European competition for Bohs. He played in both the amateur and professional eras at Bohs appearing in the very first team of the professional era against Dundalk on 16 March 1969. He was sent off in the RheinEnergieStadion against FC Koln in the UEFA Cup in September 1972 [1]. This earned him a 3 match suspension.

Doran who represented the League of Ireland, signed for Shamrock Rovers under Sean Thomas in 1976.

He signed for Thurles Town in January 1978 [2]. Doran was appointed player manager in January 1980 replacing Pat Dunne.[3].

He was appointed General Manager of Bohemians in April 2010.
