BLP sources John R. Franklin B.A. MEd Admin, is an Australian teacher who is the current headmaster of Christ's Hospital in England.
Early life and education
Franklin was born in Brisbane and was educated at Ipswich Grammar School and the University of Southern Queensland. Here, he gained a degree in English and a diploma in teaching. Thereafter, he took a master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of New England, New South Wales. He started his teaching career in Australia but moved to England in 1989 to teach at Sedbergh School, later teaching at Marlborough College, Wiltshire, where he worked as a housemaster. He then returned to Australia where he became Deputy head at St Peter's College, Adelaide, briefly becoming Acting Headmaster for 2 terms. In 1998, Franklin moved back to the UK where he became Head of Ardingly College and a board member of the Woodard Schools. He was appointed Headmaster of Christ's Hospital in 2007, replacing Dr Peter Southern, previously headmaster at Bancroft School. Franklin is also an Independent Schools Inspector
