Lee Ka-eun (Hangul: 이가은, born August 20, 1994), better known as Kaeun, is a South Korean singer and actress. She made her debut as a member of After School with the release of the group's fifth single, "Flashback", in 2012. She is also known for her role in The Idolmaster KR (2017).


2012: Debut with After School

On April 9, 2012, Pledis Entertainment revealed that a new member would be added to the girl group After School. The following day, the new member was officially revealed to be Kaeun and details regarding a Korean comeback in June were revealed.[1] Kaeun made her first appearance with the group at After School's first Japanese concert. She performed the group's hit song "Bang!" and participated in the drums performance of "Let's Do It" with the group.[no citations needed here]

Kaeun made her official debut with the group on June 21, 2012, performing their new single "Flashback" on M Countdown.[no citations needed here]

2014–2018: Acting career and Produce 48

In 2014, Kaeun made a cameo appearance in a KBS television show called Lovers of Music.[2]

In 2017, three years after her on-screen debut, she played a supporting role in The Idolmaster KR.[3]

Kaeun participated in Mnet's reality girl group show, Produce 48.[4] She was eliminated in the final episode, finishing in 14th place.[no citations needed here]

2019: Departure from After School and solo activities

Kaeun left Pledis Entertainment on July 6 following her contract expiration.[5] Kaeun released her farewell solo track, "Remember You", on July 5, 2019. The music video was released on July 12, 2019.[6] Kaeun joined High Entertainment folllowing her departure from Pledis.[7]
