Template:Infobox officeholder Narinderpal Singh Hundal (59) is an Indian-American politician and business owner from California who is contesting the current Mayoral elections from the city of West Sacramento. Hundal is the lone challenger to the sitting Mayor Christopher L Cabaldon, contesting the elections to bring change in West Sacramento. He is a member of the Democratic Party and an active volunteer with the local community in West Sacramento.
Education and Early Years
Hundal was born in Mahipalpur, Punjab, India. He gained a Bachelor's Degree in Arts from BAM Khalsa College, Punjab, India in 1975. He also gained a degree in Theology from Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Amritsar, Punjab, India. Following his education, Hundal moved to the United States and has been living there since 32 years and has been a US citizen since 10 years. The Shiromani Akali Dal appointed him the President of USA Akali Dal in 1988. He has been attached with various religious and social organizations from past years. Narinderpal Singh Hundal was very close to former SGPC chief Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra. He also contested the election of Legislative assembly elections in 2002 from Garhshankar constituency.
Career as a Businessman and Politician
Hundal is the owner / Administrator of NorCal Security, a security consulting firm in West Sacramento, employing about 100 people. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Indo-American Times. Hundal has created a lot of jobs in the city and advocates a healthy cooperation between small and big businesses. Hundal has been attached with various social and community groups for the past several years. He has been actively advocating community service. Hundal's grassroots campaign revolves around the idea of America as a land of equal opportunities to everyone, where everyone should have access to high standards of education, employment, justice and security. As a candidate in the West Sacramento Mayoral elections, Hundal not only plans to improve the financial state of the people of the city, but also seeks to improve the existing commercial infrastructure in order to bring more revenue to West Sacramento.
