Paul Maher (born 1959) is a British lawyer. He is currently the global vice chairman of Greenberg Traurig, as well as the chairman of the firm's London office.[1]

Personal life

Maher was born in North West London in 1959. He studied law at Bristol University.[2]

Legal career

Maher was the senior partner of Rowe and Maw, a British law firm, and in 2002, led its merger negotiations with Mayer Brown and Platt, which resulted in the creation of Mayer Brown Rowe and Maw (subsequently rebranded Mayer Brown). The new firm had revenues of 1 billion pounds.[3][4][5] Maher became the co-chairman of the global firm. His last role at Mayer Brown was as a member of their three-person office of chairman. He left Mayer Brown in 2009 to found Greenberg Traurig Maher. [6][7][8][9]

Maher practices as a corporate mergers and acquistions lawyer, and has won several awards for his work, including 'Partner of the Year' at The Lawyer Awards in 2007.[2][10]
