Rexaura is a single-player mod for Portal developed and released by Benjamin Bryant. It was initially released on ModDB on January 10, 2012, and was then released to Steam on December 10, 2014, for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux systems, available freely to users who own Portal on Steam.
Like in Portal, in Rexaura, the player is given the Portal gun, and put in the same environments, with much of the same testing elements, however, all the puzzles are focused around the energy pellets. The energy pellets must be guided into receptors to open doors or trigger other events. They will disappear after a short time, but this "countdown" can be restarted by having the pellet pass through a portal.
The mod has a 20-level campaign, and is listed as having a higher difficulty than Portal.
Craig Pearson of Rock, Paper, Shotgun called Rexaura "utterly delightful, probably the best chunk of non-Valve Portal modding I’ve played. It’s consistent with the tone, nicely paced and rewarding to play.”
