Roger Sinclair Griffith BSc (Hons), Dip Ed Tech, Cert Ed., FSA Scot is a British web author with nearly 500 articles published online. He specialises in British railway history, local history, archaeology and natural history[1] and has researched, written and illustrated many web articles on Wikipedia as 'Rosser1954' on the history of North Ayrshire,[2][3][4] South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire,[5] Renfrewshire, and elsewhere. He is also a photographer and has over 4000 works posted on Wikimedia, Panoramio and elsewhere.[6] YouTube videos compliment some of the web articles.[7]

A strong emphasis in the articles is on the under recorded aspects of local and natural history, archaeology and Robert Burns. Griffith is a regular speaker on various topics such as local history, natural history and Robert Burns.[8]

He has resided in Chapeltoun, North Ayrshire since 1985. Griffith was born in Torquay and brought up at Woodway House in Teignmouth, South Devon, the son of John Lloyd Griffith, a Chest Surgeon and Margaret C. A. Wilson. He retired in 2001 from a post as Head of Biology in Ardrossan Academy. In 2013-14 he is President of the Irvine Burns Club and Archivist elect at Wellwood House of the most important and extensive collection of Robert Burns manuscripts, books, artefacts and memorabilia held by any Burns Club.[9]
