Léa Simoncini (born 5 May 1997), known professionally as Seemone, is a French singer and songwriter. She is best known for entering Destination Eurovision 2019, the French national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.[1]

In the final of Destination Eurovision 2019, Seemone finished in second place with 156 points, 44 points behind the winner Bilal Hassani.[2]

Early life

Lea Simoncini was born on 5 May 1997 in Paris, France. She is the daughter of Marc Simoncini, a well known French entrepreneur. She was born with one of her vocal chords cut in half.

Career

In 2018, she released her first single, Nightbird. A music video for the song was released in December 2018.

On 6 December 2018, Seemone was announced as one of the 18 acts participating in Destination Eurovision 2019, the French national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, competing with the song Tous les deux.[1] She won the second semi-final with 113 points[3]. In the final, she performed sixth preceding the eventual winner Bilal Hassani and following Doutson. At the end of the voting, Seemone had received 94 points from the jury and 62 points from the public, for a total of 156 points, putting her in second place.[2]
