Togbe Delalom Kocuvie-Tay (born 27 May 1991) is a Ghanaian Businessman and Investor. He is best known as the Founder of Kent & Watford Advisors which comprises of companies in core sectors like Agriculture, Technology and Financial Services companies such as CediFinancial.

At the age of 16 Dela started trading by buying used mobile phone and portable electronics, refurbishing them and re-selling for a profit. 3 years later he established a small electronics shop along with his Partner Terence Brachie, and begun importing mobile phones and laptops into the Ghana. The pair made a profit for a while until early 2014 when import taxes and other difficulties made prices of electronics far too expensive which meant the market got significantly smaller for top-scale products that were brand new from the USA.

Early life

A member of the Ewe ethnic group, he hails from Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana. Tay was born in Accra, Ghana into very well educated, large Christian royal family. His mother, KM Ayer is a learned Lawyer and is first cousins with Mamaga Amega Kofi Bra I Paramount Queenmother of Peki Traditional Area in the Volta Region. His father R K Tay is a Founding Member of the New Patriotic Party, and Grand Registrar of the Grand Lodge of Ghana.

He comes from a family of 6 children and is a sibling of Ghanaian Circuit Court Judge Audrey Kocuvie-Tay


Dela started his career in 2009, at Dick K. Anyadi & Associates in Accra, working under K M Ayer and Justice Jones VM Dotse where he gained invaluable experience and knowledge in legal processes and client engagement. After a year, He took on a similar role interning at R.S. Agbenoto & Associates where he learnt hands-on the legal research and due diligence that went into advising corporate clients on Privatization, Divestiture and Investments, Corporate Transactional Legal Work In Finance & Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Capital Markets. After serving as a Office Manager at The Gazette Group, Togbe went on and took a position as a Personal Banker in 2011 in the retail division of Wells Fargo Bank where he worked over a year. He also worked as a processing Analyst at Rels Valuation, a property appraisal management company in Bloomington, MN where he coordinated and oversaw the work of various field appraisers to ensure delivery times of projects were met efficiently. He went back to take up a position in Investment Banking as a Financial Analyst at Wells Fargo Capital Finance - the Asset Based Lending unit of Wells Fargo, where he gained experience working in 4 different divisions of namely the Specialty Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Trade Capital , and Commercial Services divisions. His was primarily responsible for structuring and executing private equity/debt, M&A transactigns on behalf of clients in various sectors including Energy & Utilities, Technology Finance, Wholesale & Distribution and Transportation. Dela has worked on these transactions in the past: FastPay - $12.5M, Bulk Liquid Trasporter - $60M (Annualized), Alliance Tyre Company $32M)

He has a proven track record of successfully managing complex transactions, and increasing efficiency/productivity through the use of modern technology most appropriate for the specific business environment and cultures. Togbe is Hardworking, Adaptive, innovative and experienced in providing excellent practical solutions for problems that arise during day to day operations as well as long term strategic improvements geared towards financial and geographical growth. He has Significant experience identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to improve organization effectiveness, control costs and implement programs that significantly improve bottom line results.

Togbe Dela Kocuvie-Tay is a Associate Director of Kent & Watford Advisors based outside the Accra office. His areas of expertise are Investments, strategy & management consulting, private equity, finance and business development. He has over 7 years working experience both locally and internationally in African and North American financial markets. Dela's career began as a Research Assistant at Anyadi, Dotse & Associates in 2008, where he assisted in researching into past legal precedents, mostly in relation to family law and criminal cases.
