Vivek Raj Shivhare better known under his stage name VOOFA is a Hindi rapper and a music producer from Toronto, Canada. VOOFA is a known Indian hip hop/rap artist mostly known for his quality of music. He quickly gained popularity with his freestyle Hindi rap song "India Against Corruption" with his independent album, KORRUPT, which hit the Top 10 on Indian Music Chartbuster. His other albums have sold over 42,000 copies worldwide. The next album "Party Gangsters a.k.a PG-13" is set to be released in 2013. Template:Update after


VOOFA was born in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. He started writing stories in Hindi at a very young age which later turned out as his talent to write lyrics for songs. VOOFA soon started putting his poetry to the music he composed and gave birth to a new genre of music. His music has changed the Indian music scene forever and has spread all over the world. His Songs appeal to a larger audience in India who love the Hindi-English Hip Hop/rap. Songs are rather tough and challenges the corrupt situations in the politics, religion and human behaviour. VOOFA has mentioned numerous times in his interviews that he does not belong to any cultures, or represent any religions. His saying is "If you wish for peace, Prepare for War".

VOOFA started producing music in 2001 and released the first physical and digital copies of his debut album KORRUPT under the record label VOOFA MUZIK.[1] The album became popular locally in few Indian cities, but got its international recognition in 2011, when one of his song "India Against Corruption" coincidentally got attention from IAC in India (IAC is the name of the India Against Corruption Movement). In the first two days of the launch of his album. His song "India Against Corruption" flooded social networking websites and was considered by many of his fansTemplate:Who as an "Anthem Against Corruption". The song ranked 4th in the Indian music chartbuster.

VOOFA uses his own real-life experiences to write the lyrics which come as raw raps depicting not just Western street life, but a life many East-South Asians lead in North America. VOOFA looks up to artists such as Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and rappers like Tupac Shakur and Eazy E.

Recent album release

KORRUPT, written and produced entirely by VOOFA, is a solo album. Korrupt included six hip hop-rap, classical, instrumental, and r&b songs. It has a flavour of politics, religion and corruption. Songs are rather powerful with upbeat music. It is considered a tough-challenging, Hindi-English Mix Rap and RnB. People have often compared his rap songs with those of Bohemia, Eazy E and famous west coast rapper Tupac Shakur (2Pac).[2] His album Korrupt focus on the problems which India and a common man faces on the basis of religion, politics and emotional exploitation.[3]
