We-Sport is a vertical social network that connects athletes and sport professionals. It was founded in 2009 as a spin-off start-up from the Sports Science Research Center of the interdisciplinary College of Sports Science.[1][2][3] of University of Turin. The network helps people meet up for sports and training sessions based on their profile and location.[4] of several sports (there are more that 400 sports registered), to share photos and videos and to find sport facilities.

History

We-Sport was created in May 2009 in Turin by Marco Ivaldi, Marco Iacuaniello and Aurelian Vacariuc. It is permanently available in beta version from November 2009 and in normal version from July 2011. We-Sport is included on the City of Turin website.[5][6][7] From November 2013 is available an app for Android devices. We-Sport has been financed by Parmalat through the project Milk&Smile[8] in 2010, in the 2013 and in the 2014 through a project of sport advices.

In June 2015 We-Sport released a mobile application for Android and IOS. The platform features are then migrated entirely on mobile devices. In the same period We-Sport launched "Ovoo project" [9] for the management of sports activities in urban parks, under professional guidance of graduates in sports science.
