Daniel Anthony Padilla (born September 16, 1987[1]) is an American YouTuber and actor[2]. Born in Sacramento County, California, he began his career with his friend Ian Hecox in 2005.

Early Life

Anthony was born in Sacramento, California to Leezah and Daniel Padilla, when Anthony was two years old, his parents broke up.

Padilla is of Mexican and Filipino descent since his paternal grandmother is from the Philippines.

Smosh

Anthony Padilla created the website smosh.com in 2002 where users could upload flash animations and chat on forums. Soon afterward, he and his friend Ian Hecox began to post videos on YouTube in the autumn of 2005 and became one of the most popular channels on the site. Template:As of, the Smosh channel has over 7 billion video views and over 23 million subscribers, making it the 28th most subscribed channel on YouTube.[3] The Smosh team has expanded to include others to handle animated, other language, and video gaming content videos, and the sketches have included more actors. After Padilla left Smosh to pursue his solo YouTube channel in June 2017, Hecox became the only co-founder that is currently an active member of the Smosh team. Padilla appeared in 500+ videos in his 12-year career with Smosh.
