Rebeca "Becky" Arthur is an American actress, known for her work on the television series Perfect Strangers. She is based in Calabasas, California.[1]


Arthur was raised in Cumberland, Maryland and a graduate of Fort Hill High School.[1] After majoring in dance and drama at the University of Maryland, she moved to New York to pursue a career in entertainment. Following a string of jobs, she answered a classified ad search for "Real Life Charlie's Angels", and began a second career as a private investigator.[no citations needed here]

After three years of detective work, she returned to working in the entertainment industry. She landed recurring roles on both The Guiding Light and Search for Tomorrow.[2] In December 1983, she moved to Los Angeles and was cast in guest-starring roles on Remington Steele and Newhart as well as a role in the feature film "About Last Night". From 1986 to 1993, she appeared on the television series, Perfect Strangers as Mary Anne Spencer, a neighbor and flight attendant, and the eventual wife of Balki Bartokomous (played by Bronson Pinchot).[3]

Arthur made several appearances on the Circus of the Stars television specials, and completed the television movie Running Mates with John Forsythe.[4] She is now known as Rebecca Arthur Golden.[1]
