A senior seminar is a type of seminar course taken by some college seniors. They are focused on independent research of a specialized topic and are typically small, up to 20 students. It is common among college students with a liberal arts focus. These courses usually do not have traditional prerequisites, although they involve a level of academic and intellectual rigor comparable to advanced courses.

Senior seminars will often culminate in a student writing a research paper, and then presenting it to other members of the class.
