Football biography

Shaquille Alphonso "Shaq" McDonald (born 19 July 1995) is an English footballer who plays for York City as a Striker.[1]


Born in Birmingham, McDonald joined the youth system of Birmingham City from 2011-2012. In the year 2012, he moved to the youth team of Chasetown. His debut team signing was at Alsager Town where he was played for three games, scoring two goals for the team. Later in 2012, he was recognized by Championship team Peterborough United. He was placed in the Peterborough United Youth System. McDonald later in 2012 moved into the senior team of Peterborough and played no games in his time in the squad. In the first half of the 2013/2014 season, he joined Chester on loan where he was sent off on his debut for the club. This proved to be Shaquille's only game for the club.[2] He was then loaned to Histon where he was recognized by League 2 club York City in the December transfer window.
