-ismist Recordings was founded in 1992 as -ism Recordings by Dan Schlissel.[1] In 1998 it's most successful band, Slipknot, left the label.[2] In 2001 the label spun out its comedy recordings into Stand Up! Records, which Shlissel ran in Minneapolis, taking Lewis Black and Doug Stanhope to the new label.
