Album

Massachusetts is the compilation album released by the Bee Gees only in Brazil on Polydor Records.

The cover was taken in the same Horizontal cover in the US. The compilation includes the title track, the singles, their B-sides between 1967 and 1968 as well as the album tracks. It was manufactured by Companhia Brasileira De Discos. It also includes the non-album singles and B-sides, "Horizontal" was the track in this album, that was not released as a single.

Australian producer Ossie Byrne (who had worked with the group since 1966) produced 5 songs in this album. While Robert Stigwood produced all of the songs in this compilation while the Bee Gees themselves produced 7 songs. Bill Shepherd arranged the orchestra on all of the songs but except "Horizontal", that song features a mellotron sound played by Maurice that sounds like an orchestra backing.
