Template:Infobox football match The 2016 Eusébio Cup in association football was the 9th edition of the Eusébio Cup, a friendly match. Portuguese side and host Benfica faced Italian side Torino. Torino was the third Italian team to participate, after Inter Milan's win at the inaugural edition and Milan's defeat in the following year. This match also marked the return of the tournament to the Estádio da Luz, since its previous edition was disputed in Mexico.
In addition to honour Eusébio, this occasion also served to remember the Grande Torino team who died in the Superga air disaster, just one day after a friendly match with Benfica at the Estádio do Jamor on 3 May 1949.
Like the previous editions evolving Italian clubs, this one was also decided through penalty shoot-out. After a 1–1 draw with both goals being scored in the first half, Victor Lindelöf missed the decisive penalty and Torino was crowned the winner of the 2016 Eusébio Cup. As for Benfica, this was the fourth-straight year the club did not win the trophy.
