Original short description: "French organisation"
Bitit is a French bitcoin brokerage company based in Paris.[1][2]
History
Bitit was founded in March 2015 by Nicolas Katan, Ugo Mare, and Simon Potier.[3]
After a year of development and beta testing, Bitit launched its operations in October 2015 with live cryptocurrency purchases by credit/debit card. Initially Bitcoin was the only asset offered on their crypto-brokerage platform. In November 2017 they added Ethereum.[4]
During the crypto craze at the end of 2017, and not long after Ethereum was listed, Bitit launched a new version of its cryptocurrency brokerage platform and continued to list additional cryptocurrencies over the following months, such as Litecoin, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash and others.[5]
Bitit also added cash voucher purchases using Neosurf in March 2016 and then its competitor Cashlib less than a year later.[6][7]
In March 2018, Bitit was listed as one of the best platforms for purchasing cryptocurrencies by Forbes[8][9] and has been recognized has one of the best alternatives to Coinbase.[10][11]
