Film

Vishwavijay (हिंदी : विश्वविजय) is a Hindi Action film written, produced and directed by Prashast Singh. Prashast Singh himself features in the lead role in the film.[1] The film, made as a tribute to the Indian Army, released on 15 January 2016 on the occasion of Indian Army Day, to mixed responses.[2][3][4][5]

Plot Synopsis

Vishwavijay, a young patriot, decides to reform a boy named Mask, using methods of army. However, trouble arises when Mask meets Vishwavijay's brother Bhaskar, and the plot thickens. In between, Mask gets challenged by Vishwavijay to be reformed within 30 minutes. Will he be successful? Will Mask escape? What's the reality of Bhaskar, Vishwavijay and Mask, and some more questions form the film's plot.

All tracks were penned by Prashast Singh, and instead of releasing the soundtrack physically, it was released online. [6]

Release

The film got a 'U' certificate from the Indian Censor Board without any cuts, along with a runtime of 27 minutes. The film had a limited release on 15 January 2016. [7] [8] [9]

Reception

Vishwavijay opened to mixed to positive responses from audiences. Before its release, site Walkonwoods commented that there was no expectation with the film, and that Prashast has to prove his script and acting. [10] Buzzintown rated the film an average of 4.5/5 from 3 users. [11] Moviezin.com rated an average of 7.5/10 from 6 users. [12] Rotten Tomatoes and Flixster had an average user score of 100% from 18 users, as they had rated the film above three and a half stars. [13][14] Asklaila.com rated 3/5 based on 3 ratings. [15]

Checkmymovie site, based on the percentage of people willing to watch the film, rated it 1/5. [16] Similarly, from its first look and trailers, site Freeonlinemoviestore.com rated it 3.9/10.[17]
