Dezell “Trueful” French was born September 12, 1987 in Long Beach, California to Deborah and Dana French. At an early age Trueful showed a love for performing and entertainment. Today that love has turned Trueful into a talented vocalist, songwriter, dancer and actor. His shows are captivating and every audience that has witnessed his electrifying performance walks away saying he is the next big Pop star.

Trueful’s first performance, at the age of 16, was at the national Uplifting Minds II entertainment conference in Los Angeles. In 2007 he signed with French Royalty Records, owned by his parents and continued to perform at conferences, fundraisers, and club and college tours - while in the studio preparing for his next CD release. Trueful has developed a signature style of romancing the ladies in the audience with roses at the end of his shows. His performances, songwriting, dancing, soulful singing and gentleman demeanor has gained him the respect of his contemporaries.

King’s Club (Universal City Walk), The Aqua Lounge, The Oasis, and the House of Blues (Sunset). He often performs with two other label-mates comedian Peanutt and four member sister-brother group B-Soul.

Trueful’s debut CD release was in 2008 titled “Truth Be Told.” The CD garnered him his first hit single “Wherever I Go” which qualified him for a 2008 Grammy Award nomination consideration in the Best New Artist category and a Las Vegas Music Awards nomination for Best Vocalist. The single stayed on the Billboard charts for 9 weeks going from 25 to 13.

His sophomore CD scheduled for a fall, 2010 release is titled “Taste of Class.” The single “Feeling You,” produced by Apt 6 Productions, is rapidly gaining radio airplay and is accompanied by a hot music video that features comedian Peanutt, actress/dancer Gita, and the French Royalty Dancers (Krystal, D Valentine and Jasmine (Jazzy) Hayes).

As an actor Trueful has appeared in the films “Death by Association” directed by JayTee from BET’s College Hill and “Easy A” starring Amanda Bynes (Central Casting Agency) and as a songwriter he is currently working with label mates B-Soul on their debut CD.
