Vysotska L. Ol’viya (born 1956 in Lviv, Ukraine) – Ukrainian scientist, the author of innovative methods of teaching foreign languages by adapting to the virtual language environment, linguist (English, German, French), teacher, lecturer foreign languages for humanities of Lviv University (since 1996), the author of over 150 scientific publications (books, articles, translations, teaching materials). Author of the English Wordpower Dictionary of Psychology of a new type (2007-446 p.).

Life

In 1978 graduated from the department of English Philology Faculty of Foreign Languages of L’viv State Ivan Franko University.

1978-1971 Assistant Engineer of L’viv Department of STECS ITPh Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Western Regional Center (headed by Acad. of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Ihor Rafayilovych Yukhnovskyi).

1981–1996 Teacher of the highest category of English, German and French of L’viv Ivan Trush CADA.

since 1996 Lecturer, Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities of L’viv National University.

2006–2014 Leading specialist of the Series of "Heralds of the University" of L’viv National Ivan Franko University.

Scientific Research

Research interests include the study of the text discourse analysis, psycholinguistics, teaching methodology and teaching skills (development and introduction of new effective methods of teaching foreign languages), methods of teaching. Author of the English Wordpower Dictionary of Psychology of a new type (2007-446 p.). Author of over 150 scientific publications (articles, translations, teaching materials, manuals, dictionary, etc.). The author of modern and innovative methods of teaching foreign languages by adapting to the virtual language environment. Conducts practical training for the full-time students and students by correspondence for Humanities. Author of the experimental curriculum of the level teaching a foreign language at the Philosophical Faculty (for students of Psychology) full time students and students by correspondence which is implemented in the educational process at the department, the implementer of the state budget theme. Participated in two international projects "TEMPUS – TACIS" and "L’viv-Oregon Partnership." A TESOL conferences participant. A participant of the seminar of "Academic Writing". Speaker on the subject of her scientific research at conferences of the faculty and University scientific and methodological seminars of the department. She participates in the struggle for sobriety, particularly in the conference "Formation of a sober lifestyle in the family and society" carried out by the organization of "Sober Ukraine". Actively professes a healthy lifestyle, and publishes in the Proceedings of the scientific "A Healthy Lifestyle" (“A Healthy Way of Life”).
